During our vacation to Cape Verde in Santa Maria Island, my group had the opportunity to dine at a restaurant owned by a charming couple from the UK. We had a wonderful experience there.
We were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome we received from the couple who owned it.

We went on a Friday night, the live music and performances were great! Really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. I assume it was the owner was sitting outside small talking with some guests and checking in on people so the service was great. None of this compares to the food however. The food was top notch, reminded me of going home to the Caribbean! The jerk fish was highly recommended, the ginger beer is exactly how it should be, everything was 5/5. Overall, I would highly recommend you spending at least one evening at The Coconut Room, I'll surely come back to try some more dishes before I leave :)

Amazing find on our first night in Santa Marie. Lovely food, family friendly atmosphere and attentive staff all watched over by the most amenable host you can wish for. Clearly a lot of repeat diners coming up at the end of their evening to thank the host - speaks volumes about the quality of this place! The live, open air entertainment was a big plus too, drawing in the passers by. Great night all round.
